Just past Veldenz, we were approached by a man who wanted to take us up the mountain with our bikes in his car. Well, that was not necessary and he did not understand a thing.

The climb starts in a forest with percentages around 6%. Then you come to a plain, with huge yellow mown fields (in August during a heat wave), where you sometimes go down. Always nice.

At some point you have to go to Gornhausen. Behind it, the wooded hills with windmills begin. Behind the village you enter a small street with on the right for all deceased villagers a nameplate and a tree and on the left the football club. One field.

Then the forest closes in and the road becomes steep. With a Garmin you hit the 15%, with a Wahoo the 13, but in both cases it is equally hard pedalling.

The forest is dense and there was little to see, except for a passenger van with black tinted windows half hidden on a side path.

At a certain point, you are at the highest point, near two broadcasting masts. No view, just trees.

Not a very nice climb, but very quiet and one of the toughest in the area.
