Der erste Teil verläuft entlang einer stark befahrenen Hauptstraße und ist als unattraktiv zu sehen. Nachdem man nach rechts abgebogen ist, ändert sich das Bild drastisch. Man fährt durch eine ruhige Umgebung hinauf zum Haarkreuz. Dabei gibt es im zweiten Teil schöne Kletterpunkte, wobei man eine schöne Haarnadelkurve direkt am Anfang hat. Falls man die Hauptstraße auslässt sicherlich 4 Sterne wert, auf Grund der Hauptstraße einen Stern weniger.

Je rijdt via een zeer slingerende weg door een mooie omgeving omhoog. Deze route is de makkelijkste om bij het Haarener Kreuz op de Haarberg te komen vanwaar je een prachtig uitzicht hebt over de stad. Onderweg kom je ook nog langs de oude Joodse begraafplaats. Het laatste stuk is een vrijwel rechte weg (die nog steeds lekker stijgt) naar het kruis, ook hier heb je rechts bijzonder fraai uitzicht.
