If you're looking for a climb with a punch, this is definitely it! The road is very narrow at times, barely enough for a single car, but luckily, there wasn't a lot of traffic. This climb is tricky because it's quite steep right from the beginning. No problem, you mentally prepare and pace yourself, you start to enjoy the scattered houses and the scenery, only for a 20% wall at the end that hits you like a brick! This climb is tricky because it's quite steep right from the beginning. No problem, you mentally prepare and pace yourself, you start to enjoy the scattered houses and the scenery, only for a 20% wall at the end that hits you like a brick! I was barely going forward despite being out of the saddle. You do get some amazing views though!

I recommend that you keep going forward once you reach the top. You'll have a lovely descent back into Koper, with one or two picturesque tiny villages (and a short but steep climb!) along the way.
