4.0 by matteob81Non-demanding ascent for the first 9 km with some flat parts where you can breathe and enjoy the beautiful view of the Blüemlisalp. The road flattens out near the alluvial plain and then climbs the last 2 km, which are very very challenging between narrow hairpin bends. The ascent towards Griesalp is very gradual in the beginning towards the Kiental with friendly gradients. The road is of good quality and the amount of traffic is not too bad. The devil is in the tail. The last 1.5 km are very steep, with percentages up to 20%. Fortunately, this section is in the forest, so it is still refreshingly cool on hot days. Fortunately, there is also little traffic here so you can use the whole road and take the hairpins wide.

From a historical point of view, it is worth mentioning that an international conference of socialists who opposed the First World War was held in this remote valley in 1916, with the participation of Lenin, among others.
