This climb is the definition of unknown is unloved. Very much enjoyed the scenery with the rippling water and abundant greenery. Was able to paddle up in peace. The descent is indeed very bad, but not that long. Once past Col de Bockloch you get onto better roads.
Deze klim is de definitie van onbekend is onbemind. Erg genoten van de omgeving met het kabbelende water en het vele groen. In alle rust naar boven kunnen peddelen. De afdaling is inderdaad zeer slecht, maar niet zo lang. Eenmaal voorbij Col de Bockloch kom je op betere wegen.
Beautiful climb through the forest and nice and shady. The ascent is pretty constant and the last hump (12％) annoying, but the view compensates a lot. Near the auberge is a water point with lovely cool water.
The descent to col de la Vierge is indeed terrible.
Prachtige beklimming door het bos en lekker in de schaduw. De beklimming is mooi constant en het laatste hupje (12％) vervelend, maar het uitzicht vergoed dan weer veel. Bij de auberge zit een waterpunt met heerlijk koel water.
De afdaling naar col de la Vierge is inderdaad verschrikkelijk.
If you start from this side, you have probably already gained some extra altitude metres. The first part, up to the U-turn, is gorgeous. Next to you runs a nice flowing river and the surroundings are nice and quiet. Up to here, the road surface is also pretty good. After the U-turn, there is a small house with a water point. From here on, the road surface becomes less good but the climb goes well. You climb steadily between the trees. At the end, cross some drainage channels and a steep section. NOTE: the descent is bumpy and dirty (April 2024). Because of this 3/5 instead of 4/5.
Als je vanuit deze kant begint heb je waarschijnlijk al wat hoogtemeters extra gemaakt. Het eerste deel, tot de U bocht, is schitterend. Naast je loopt een mooi stromend riviertje en de omgeving is lekker rustig. Tot hier is het wegdek ook wel goed. Na de U bocht staat een huisje met een waterpunt. Vanaf hier wordt het wegdek minder goed maar de beklimming loopt goed. Heerlijk rustig tussen de bomen klim je gestaag omhoog. Op het laatst nog wat afwateringskanaaltjes overbruggen en een steil stuk. LET OP: de afdaling ligt er hobbelig en vies bij (april 2024). Hierdoor 3/5 in plaats van 4/5.

Fantastisch. Door het bos in volledige stilte naar een prachtige top. Laatste stukkie is heftig. Dan bij de skihut genieten van t uitzicht
