My first ascent in the Vosges. It was early April, but the weather was very bad. Pouring rain and strong winds. Shortly below the summit, there was a layer of frozen snow on the road over 10 metres or so. Otherwise, the road surface was reasonable. The climb is long, but nice and gradual.

Heerlijk klimmen; meer dan 10 kilometer, niet steil, maar rustig door vooral bos. Vooral fijn als opwarmer op een eerste dag in de Vogezen. Hou wel echt rekening met dat de klim doorloopt tot het eind en dat je dus moet overhouden. Het lijkt namelijk op een bepaald moment erop dat je er bent, maar dan komt er aan het einde nog wel een venijnig stukje.
