Long, even climb surrounded by woods and small rivers. Asphalt is of limited quality, no problem on the ascent but be careful on wet descents
Lange gelijkmatige klim omringd door bos en riviertjes. Asfalt is eerder van beperkte kwaliteit, al klimmend geen probleem maar wees voorzichtig bij natte afdalingen
My first ascent in the Vosges. It was early April, but the weather was very bad. Pouring rain and strong winds. Shortly below the summit, there was a layer of frozen snow on the road over 10 metres or so. Otherwise, the road surface was reasonable. The climb is long, but nice and gradual.
Mijn eerste beklimming in de Vogezen. Het was begin april, maar het weer was heel slecht. Stromende regen en stevige wind. Kort onder de top lag er over een meter of 10 een laag opgevroren sneeuw op de weg. Verder was het wegdek redelijk. De klim is lang, maar mooi en geleidelijk.
First climb in the Vosges, after a week of heat in the Ardèche this was a welcome cooling down. Drizzle and nice cycling between the trees. No idea if there is a nice view on the top, it was quite foggy...
Eerste beklimming in de Vogezen, na een weekje hitte van de Ardèche was dit een welkome afkoeling. Miezer en lekker tussen de bomen fietsen. Geen idee of er een mooi uitzicht op de top is, het was er namelijk nogal mistig...
Lovely climb; more than 10 km, not steep, but quiet, mainly through forest. Especially nice as a warm-up on a first day in the Vosges. Keep in mind that the climb continues to the end and that you should keep up. It seems at a certain moment that you're there, but then there is at the end still a vicious piece.
Heerlijk klimmen; meer dan 10 kilometer, niet steil, maar rustig door vooral bos. Vooral fijn als opwarmer op een eerste dag in de Vogezen. Hou wel echt rekening met dat de klim doorloopt tot het eind en dat je dus moet overhouden. Het lijkt namelijk op een bepaald moment erop dat je er bent, maar dan komt er aan het einde nog wel een venijnig stukje.
