La salita presenta un lungo tratto iniziale sull'altopiano di Campo Imperatore. Non lontano dall'inizio, ci sono alcuni posti dove sono stati girati dei films, ad esempio alcune scene del film western all'italiana 'Lo chiamavano Trinità', in particolare il canyon e una brecciata.
A very impressive landscape, as far as I am concerned an absolute must visit as a cycling fanatic. The last part of the climb to the observatory was quite a bit of raking for me after a day in the saddle. At the top, the views are better than on the final turns. And so is the coffee.
Een heel indrukwekkend landschap, wat mij betreft een absolute must om te bezoeken als wielerfanaat. Het laatste stuk van de klim naar de sterrenwacht was voor mij aardig harken na een dag in het zadel. Bovenop is het uitzicht beter dan in de laatste bochten. En de koffie ook.
Campo Imperatore should need no introduction, if you have never been there, make up for it!
I recommend starting from Fonte Vetica (large car park) so as to do the whole plain.
Campo Imperatore non dovrebbe avere bisogno di presentazione, se non ci siete mai stati rimediate!
