A light but scenically attractive and varied climb. The first part goes over an asphalt bike path (among others under the railway) along the Grachtstrasse. At the bicycle signpost you enter the forest (the direction to which no signpost indicates). Here begins a beautiful and narrow bike path which consists mainly of gravel with sometimes a piece of good asphalt. The gravel is comparable to the shell paths in the Netherlands. Sometimes along the edge of the forest and sometimes through the forest you slowly climb up with on the left increasingly beautiful views. The last part to the refuge where the top is, is an asphalt road with very bumpy asphalt. Here you do have a panoramic view to the left, a.o. towards the impressive lignite power plant of Weissweiler.
