A real climb in steps.
After half a kilometre of climbing where the percentages are never really too high, you already reach a first plateau. Take the opportunity here to shake your legs loose, because the next one and a half kilometres will be hard work! The percentages take a big leap, at times you will be climbing for hundreds of metres at an average of 12-13 percent!
A short plateau gives your legs a bit of oxygen, but it's better to keep them tense for what's to come....a final stretch of a good kilometre where the average gradient doesn't drop below 8 per cent.
After this stretch, the road keeps going up, but it gradually weakens.

Once at the top, you immediately understand why the pro riders took this route downhill during the 2018 UCI Road Cycling World Cup.... Not insurmountable, where a tough customer though!
