This is an ideal climb if you don't want to break even, but just want to enjoy a (light) climbing road in the beautiful surroundings. Great to take a break after all the climbing in this area.
The climb is on a good tarmac road. This stops after the indicated route. From here, the road continues as a gravel road in the beautiful Gerendal. After about 700 meters you come to the beginning of the beautiful and tough climb to Scheulder.
Dit is een ideale klim als je nu niet eens stuk wilt gaan, maar gewoon wilt genieten van een (licht) klimmende weg in de prachtige omgeving. Heerlijk om even tussendoor te pakken na het klimgeweld in deze omgeving.
De klim loopt over een prima asfaltweg. Dit houdt na het aangegeven traject wel op. Hiervandaan loopt de weg als gravelweg verder in het fraaie Gerendal. Na zo'n 700 meter kom je dan bij het begin van de mooie en pittige klim naar Scheulder.
Note that when you get to the top here, you end up on a stretch of gravel road that is difficult to walk on with a cycling bike. It could be because of the floods in the region, but it seems that the tarmac road stops at a certain point. The tarmac road is beautiful though, with views of the surroundings.
Let op: als je hier bovenaan komt, beland je op een stuk gravelpad dat lastig te begaan is met de wielrenfiets. Het kan nu komen van de overstromingen in de regio, maar het lijkt er op dat de geasfalteerde weg op een gegeven moment ophoudt. De geasfalteerde weg is wel schitterend, met uitzichten van de omgeving.
The road indeed becomes a gravel road further on, so does the climb east of this one. So it is not because of the floods.
De weg wordt inderdaad verderop een gravelweg, dat geldt ook voor de klim ten oosten van deze. Is dus niet door de overstromingen.
