Nice climb up from the creek valley, first on a cycle path (and a bit of bike lane) and after turning left on a road further up through the forest to a clear highest point. Beautiful scenery with lots of variety. When descending after the summit, it is better to stay on the road than to take the cycle path as the latter is very bumpy.
Leuke klim vanuit het beekdal omhoog, eerst over een fietspad (en een stukje fietsstrook) en nadat je linksaf bent geslagen over een weggetje verder door het bos omhoog tot een duidelijk hoogste punt. Mooie omgeving met veel variatie. Bij het afdalen na de top is het beter om op de weg te blijven fietsen dan het fietspad te pakken want die laatste is erg hobbelig.
A more than pleasant alternative for the Wagenings Berg from Renkum: a lot quieter, not along the provincial road over a cycle path, but over a narrow road (with bumpy tarmac), right through the woods. The slope in itself is not much, but in combination with some other climbs around Wageningen it is a must.
Een meer dan prettig alternatief voor de Wagenings Berg vanuit Renkum: een stuk rustiger, niet langs de provinciale weg over een fietspad, maar over een smalle weg (met hobbelig asfalt), dwars door de bossen. De helling op zich stelt niet heel veel voor, maar in combinatie met wat andere klimmetjes rondom Wageningen is het toch een aanrader.
