The climb can be divided into three parts: the first part is exposed to the sun, on a wide and fairly busy road (it is the same road that leads to the spa town of Leukerbad). The second part is slightly steeper, and the traffic disappears, although you pass through some pretty villages. The climb can be divided into three parts: the first part is exposed to the sun, on a wide and fairly busy road (it is the same road that leads to the spa town of Leukerbad). The second part is slightly steeper, and the traffic disappears, although you pass through some pretty villages. The third part is on a narrower road and starts in the forest, while in the last part the vegetation disappears. This last part is very tough. Overall, the climb is varied and spectacular. The view of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking, and reaching the summit in an alpine environment makes, in my opinion, the climb worthy of the five stars.
