Having lived in Travnik for six months for m's work, I had the opportunity to conquer this climb. It is fair to say that I fell head over heels at the time. Every week I rode the climb once or twice. You cycle here in amazingly beautiful surroundings. The climb is a lovely runner where you shift 1 or 2 gears lighter in the second part. The road surface is generally adequate. After winter and after periods of bad weather, there are rocks here and there on the road. As there is almost no maintenance, this is something to bear in mind. This climb is the old road to Galica and Sisava where you will find many holiday accommodations these days. There is almost no motorised traffic anymore. Almost all traffic has been driving via a better road on the other side of the mountain for years. Bosnia-Herzegovina will not be on many people's "still-to-be-visited-countries" list, but a visit to this part of central Bosnia I can heartily recommend. It is beautiful. Many Dutch soldiers were stationed in Sisava after the Bosnian war as part of a large-scale peacekeeping force led by NATO.
