The climb to Gaggio from Domaso is relatively short, certainly compared to the major climbs in the area. That’s precisely why it’s ideal if you want to go for a shorter training ride or add a bit of climbing to a loop. The road is quiet, the tarmac is in good condition and there are stunning panoramic views of Lake Como along the way. The olive groves lining the route are also lovely.
The highlight of the climb is in the village of Gaggio. There, a short but challenging stretch of around 150 metres of cobblestones awaits, with a gradient of around 20 per cent.
