A mild climb in great scenery. Sandwiched in between the toughest climbs in the AGR, but don't mistake your own at the start. There is a wide bike path next to the road these days, so you have to keep a close eye on traffic while crossing. As a result, you may have to go straight up the 1st wall from standstill and that takes strength if you are not small geared. After that, you can recover fairly quickly on the milder section to pop up the 2nd wall quite easily and then enjoy a beautiful view.
Een milde klim in een geweldige omgeving. In de AGR ingeklemd tussen de zwaarste beklimmingen, maar vergis je eigen niet in het begin. Er ligt tegenwoordig een breed fietspad naast de weg, dus moet je het verkeer goed in de gaten houden tijdens het oversteken. Daardoor kan het gebeuren dat je uit stilstand direct tegen het 1e muurtje op moet en dat kost kracht als je niet klein staat geschakeld. Daarna kan je vrij snel herstellen op het mildere gedeelte om vrij simpel het 2e muurtje op te knallen en vervolgens kan genieten van een prachtig uitzicht.

Vorig jaar deze klim voor het eerst gedaan. Ben het er nog steeds over eens. Je moet je wel schamen als je hier op je aller aller lichtste verzet naar boven fietst. Dan heb je nog heel veel trainingswerk te gaan
A nice climb partly because of the various plateaus you encounter. In a handbike (recumbent) you can cycle the whole climb on medium or large blade with a bit of power. If you need the small blade for this then you know you have a lot of training hours ahead of you.
The start scares you a bit but once you've done the first bit and rounded the bend then it's really just keep going. Then, when you have passed the open plain and you see the slope in the 'distance' then it is a matter of big blade and making as much speed as possible then you will get to the top without any problem and you can enjoy the beautiful view
Een mooie klim mede door de diverse plateaus die je tegen komt. In een handbike (ligger) kun je met een beetje kracht de hele klim op midden of groot blad fietsen. Als je hier het kleine blad voor nodig hebt dan weet je dat je nog veel traininguurtjes te maken hebt.
Het begin maakt je een beetje bang maar als je eenmaal het eerste stukje gedaan hebt en de bocht om bent dan is het eigenlijk alleen maar doordraaien. Als je vervolgens de open vlakte gepasseerd bent en je ziet de helling in de 'verte' dan is het kwestie van grote blad en zoveel mogelijk snelheid maken dan kom je zonder enig probleem boven en kun je van het mooie uitzicht genieten
Well known from the Amstel Gold Race but a climb also good for the recreational cyclist. If you come from the direction of Elkenrade or Ubachsberg you have a nice running speed which allows you to pass the first part of the climb on a high gear. After you have turned right you ride along a vineyard and meadow. This is really enjoyable. Not too steep anymore so I could keep on going with a heavy gear. On the two short steep bends I got in front of my wheels, it was hard to reach the top without downshifting. All in all, a great climb!
Bekend van de Amstel Gold Race maar een klim die ook voor de recreant goed te doen is. Kom je vanuit de richting Elkenrade of Ubachsberg dan heb je een mooie aanloopsnelheid waarmee je het eerste deel van de klim op een groot verzet kunt doortrekken. Nadat je rechtsaf bent geslagen rij je langs een wijnveld en weiland. Dit is echt genieten. Niet al te steil meer waardoor ik op een zwaar verzet flink door kon trekken. Op de twee korte steile knikjes die ik nog voor de wielen kreeg was het nog wel even afzien om zonder terugschakelen boven te komen. Al met al een heerlijke beklimming!
Personally one of my favorite climbs in this part of Z-Limburg. The beginning you can bang on if you come from Elkenrade or Ubagsberg because the exit to the right is not sharp, the first few hundred meters is fairly steep but you can take the power. Then a right turn and it becomes false flat. On the left side the vineyard of "Fromberg".
After about 1km turn left at the picnic area where it is very steep, then it bends a little to the top. Do not forget to enjoy the view. Please note that in the descent is often loose gravel in the sharp bends!
Persoonlijk een van mijn favoriete beklimmingen in dit stukje Z-Limburg. Het begin kan je vol opknallen als je vanuit Elkenrade of Ubagsberg komt omdat de afslag naar recht niet scherp is, De eerste paar honderd meter is redelijk steil maar kan je op de macht nemen. Hierna een bocht naar rechts waarna het vals plat oploopt. Aan de linkerkant de wijngaard van "Fromberg".
Na ca. 1km linksaf slaan bij de picknickplaats waar het heel even goed steil loopt, hierna bolt het nog even door naar de top. Vergeet niet de genieten van het uitzicht. Let op, in de afdaling ligt in de scherpe bochten vaak los grind!
The Fromberg is by far the easiest of the classic finals of the Amstel Gold Race. You start at the bottom on the big plateau, stand on your pedals, and bang up to the top. But besides being the least difficult, it is also the most beautiful. At the top you have a beautiful view. And let us be honest: every now and then such a nice running piece is also beneficial.
De Fromberg is veruit de gemakkelijkste van de klassieke finale van de Amstel Gold Race. Je start beneden op de grote plateau, gaat op je pedalen staan, en knalt tot boven. Maar naast de minst lastige is het ook de mooiste. Boven heb je een prachtig zicht. En laat ons eerlijk wezen: af en toe zo'n lekker lopend stuk doet ook wel deugt.
Delicious climb between the Eyserbosweg and the Keutenberg (in the AGR). The Fromberg is a lot friendlier than the Eyserbos and the Keut, but not less beautiful. At the top you have a wide view over the whole stitch. An absolute must!
Heerlijke klim tussen de Eyserbosweg en de Keutenberg (in de AGR). De Fromberg is een stuk vriendelijker dan de Eyserbos en de Keut, maar niet minder mooi. Op de top heb je een wijds uitzicht over de hele steek. Een absolute aanrader!
Scenically one of the most beautiful climbs in this area, with always different views (almost in all directions). And not too heavy so for almost everyone good to do. Definitely recommended!
Just watch out at the exits (first right, then first left). After the last exit, the top seems immediately in sight but then you have a bit further. After the real top is a bench with beautiful views to the north and west. And on the way there are regular beautiful views.
Landschappelijk gezien één van de mooiste beklimmingen in dit gebied, Met steeds verschillende uitzichten (vrijwel alle kanten op). En niet te zwaar dus voor vrijwel iedereen goed te doen. Zeker aan te raden!
Even opletten bij de afslagen (eerste rechts, daarna eerste links). na de laatste afslag lijkt de top meteen in zicht maar dan moet je nog een stukje verder. Ná de echte top is een bankje met fraai uitzicht naar het noorden en het westen. En onderweg zijn er ook regelmatig mooie uitzichten.

Alleen voor het uitzicht al een "must". Voor bijna iedereen goed te doen denk ik. Ook een klim waarmee je kunt spelen. Omdat de Fromberg een paar keer afvlakt kan je goed tempo maken. Echt een prachtige klim!
Nice climb to cycle up. At the last turn to the left don't forget to go to the real top because the first top after the turn to the left is not the top. The next one is, with a bench 100m after the top. Photo is made from that bench to the top.
Mooi klimmetje om hard naar boven te fietsen. Bij de laatste bocht naar links niet vergeten om nog naar de echte top door te trekken want de eerste top na de bocht naar links is niet de top. Die daarna wel, met 100m na de top een bankje. Foto is van dat bankje naar de top gemaakt.

Beautiful climb. In terms of difficulty it is average, but the climb makes up for a lot in terms of views. When you're at the top you look to the left over Etenaken, Keutenberg and Scheulder.
Prachtige klim. Qua zwaarte is hij gemiddeld, maar de klim maakt veel goed qua uitzicht. Als je helemaal boven bent kijk je naar links uit over Etenaken, Keutenberg en Scheulder.
Nice climb with very nice views. The fromberg starts steep, then comes a long piece of false flat and then a very steep turn to the left. This one is in the category Bemelerberg, where you can ride up on power without falling over. The Fromberg is often ridden after the Eyserbosweg.
Mooie klim met hele mooie uitzichten. De fromberg begint steil, vervolgens komt een heel lang stuk vals plat en vervolgens nog een hele steile knik naar links. Deze valt in de categorie Bemelerberg, waar je op macht omhoog kan rijden zonder stil te vallen. De Fromberg wordt heel vaak gereden na de Eyserbosweg.

The valley where this climb starts is ideal to use as climbing training, you can do laps of 6-10 km on an afternoon and make 800 altimeters and never be far away from the main road.
Coming from Ubachsberg you go quickly towards the exit, it's a sloping road so you go 35 km/h, you turn onto the climb and boom, you should have changed gears. Too late, you turn around and get out of the bike and your segment on strava is ruined...
You are winding nicely uphill and turn right, isn't it smooth now? Why is it not really faster ... so feels Limburg false flat.
De Fromberg zoals gereden in de Amstel Gold Race, vroeger nog door Fromberg maar door de smalle straten daar nu van deze kant.
Het dal waar deze klim start is ideaal om als klimtraining te gebruiken, je kunt in rondjes van 6-10 kilometer op een middag zomaar 800 hoogtemeters maken en nooit ver weg zijn van de doorgaande weg.
Komende vanuit Ubachsberg ga je vlot richting de afslag, het is een aflopende weg dus je gaat zomaar 35 km/h, je draait de klim op en boem je had moeten schakelen. Te laat betekent omdraaien en opstappen en je segment op strava is naar de vaantjes...
Je kronkelt lekker naar boven en draait naar rechts, vlakt het nu af niet? Waarom gaat het niet echt sneller...zo voelt dus Limburgs vals plat.
This one should not be missed if you cycle in Limburg. You have good views, there are curves, it is quite quiet. Moreover, I personally find the approach very cool: you arrive from the east on a slightly sloping Vrakelberg road where you can go down full throttle and then for the exit to the Fromberg you have to fully anchors.
Deze mag niet ontbreken als je in Limburg fietst. Je hebt prima uitzicht, er zitten bochten in, het is er vrij rustig. Bovendien vind ik persoonlijk de aanloop heel gaaf: je komt aan vanuit het oosten op een licht aflopende Vrakelbergweg waar je vol gas naar beneden kan en dan voor de afslag naar de Fromberg vol in de ankers moet.
Nice and quiet little climb. Start a bit steeper, then some parts to recover or accelerate and even smaller parts a bit steeper. Quiet and good road surface. After the turn to the right you have a view on the dry valley of Colmont and the Eyserbosweg. Then left to the top and then a view on the Geul valley.
Leuk en wat rustiger klimmetje. Begin kort wat steiler, daarna wat stukken om bij te komen of te versnellen en nog kleinere stukjes wat steiler. Rustig en goed wegdek. Na de afslag naar rechts heb je rechts zicht op het droogdal van Colmont en de Eyserbosweg. Daarna links tot de top en dan zicht op Geuldal.

Nice climb in 3 steps. Ideal for the heavier climber who needs to rely on his strength.
You can continue three times on the steeper parts and in between turn a larger gear and recover "recuperate".
Lekker klimmetje in 3 trapjes. Ideaal voor de zwaardere klimmer die het van kracht moet hebben.
Je kan drie keer goed doortrekken op de steilere stukjes en tussenin een groter verzet draaien en "recupereren".
Not too difficult and that is good, because you are not spared in this corner of Limburg. It runs nice, nice sharp turns and then beautiful views. Very quiet (on weekdays), only some cows in the meadow.
Niet te moeilijk en dat is fijn, want je wordt in deze hoek van Limburg niet gespaard. Hij loopt mooi, leuke scherpe bocht en dan hele mooie vergezichten. Heel rustig (doordeweeks), alleen wat koeien in de wei.
