Frith Hill is the sensible alternative to the Missenden Wall, which passes underneath it. But Frith Hill is a decent climb in it's own right, hitting close to double digit gradients. Not worth detouring for, but often a means to an end - e.g. getting onto the road to The Lee to head north across country. I sometimes prefer Leather Lane (which is no easier, but less busy), but that's closed at the moment, for HS2 works. I'll submit it when it reopens.
