Road surface is not equally good everywhere. Much steeper than Canary Mountain and there seems to be no end to it, nice cycling among the forests though.
Wegdek is niet overal evengoed. Veel steiler dan de Kanarieberg en er lijkt geen einde aan te komen, wel leuk tussen de bossen fietsen.

Erg mooie beklimming die parallel loopt aan zijn bekender broertje Kanarieberg. De Fortuinberg is wat mij betreft leuker, fraaier en vooral meer uitdagend. Vooral de laatste strook door het bos is prachtig fietsen, als je niet bang bent van flinke stijgingspercentages tenminste. Eind april deze nogmaals naar boven gefietst en door het verwijderen van een flink aantal bomen, is de weg er flink op vooruit gegaan. In droge omstandigheden is dit geen enkel probleem om naar boven te klauteren.
Unknown climb, but really great to do. The Fortuinberg takes you from the south side of the Muziekberg to the top in the Muziekbos. The very steep parts are accompanied by beautiful views. The short downhill stretch before you turn into the forest is a good moment to catch your breath just before and after the steepest parts of this climb. I'm totally sold on the Fortuinberg and will do it again numerous times.
Onbekende klim, maar echt zalig om te doen. De Fortuinberg brengt je van de zuidelijke kant van de Muziekberg tot op de top in het Muziekbos. De zeer steile stukken worden bijgevallen door mooie uitzichten. Het korte stukje bergaf voor je het bos indraait is een goed moment om even op adem te komen vlak na en voor de steilste stukken van deze klim. Ben zelf helemaal verkocht aan de Fortuinberg en zal hem nog talloze keren opnieuw doen.
