One of the steepest hills in Bergen along with Skivebakken, which is a little steeper but shorter. Fagerbakken really kicked my ass, I had to lean forwards on my bike to not fall backwards in some sections, and really had to dig deep to get to the top, with some zig-zagging at times to reduce the gradient somewhat. I would recommend it, while it’s not long at all, it’s definitely satisfying to conquer :)
Fagerbakken is brutal. The steepest road in Bergen. When you think you had the hardest part, it ends up with a steep finish. Beautiful view over Byfjorden. You will find the hill at Fagerbakken bus stop close to Helleveien.
