Departing Evendine village the climbing is easy on a fairly narrow but reasonably well surfaced lane, but there is a much more challenging finish to the junction with Jubilee Drive. No views on the climb (trees), but you pass some attractive properties. (By turning left at the top you can take on a sustained section of additional climbing, parallel to the Malvern ridge. Trees hamper the views you would otherwise have to the west.)
