Wasn't much in the end. Warned beforehand 'that it really was 1.1 kilometres long. I have never experienced such a short kilometre. Was at the top before I knew it. Nice for when you are in the area but nothing more.
Stelde uiteindelijk niet heel veel voor. Van te voren 'gewaarschuwd' dat ie toch echt wel 1,1 kilometer lang was. Ik heb nog nooit zo'n korte kilometer mee gemaakt. Was boven voor ik er erg in had. Leuk voor als je in de buurt bent maar meer ook niet.
Have ridden this one several times, the first time I got mistaken on the climb and the bricks, momentarily wrong gear change and almost stalled .... pretty challenging climb for this region! Recommended.
Heb deze al een aantal keren gereden, de eerste keer verkeek ik me op de klim en de klinkers, even verkeerd schakelen en bijna stilstaan .... best uitdagende klim voor deze regio! Aanrader.

Ga je te enthousiast van start en denk je dat je het zwaarste heb gehad bij de rood/witte paal dan kom je bedrogen uit, want hij gaat nog ff door langs een paar aardige huisjes. De afdaling moet je absoluut met de handen aan de remmen doen, want je komt de nodige putten en kuilen tegen.
I usually take m from the other side, climb up by the water which can be vicious. At the top there is a pancake house so I can catch my breath. The descent is very hard on the cobblestones (or is it what it feels like?).

Ik pak m meestal vanaf de andere kant, klimmen bij het water omhoog wat venijnig kan zijn. Bovenop een pannenkoekenhuis en dus gelegenheid om even op adem te komen. De afdaling gaat kneitertjehard over de klinkers (of voelt dat zo?).
Zoals werd aangegeven, uitkijken met de afdaling met verkeer van rechts en de onoverzichtelijke kruising aan het einde!

This goes pretty fast and I have seen this go wrong before, despite the fact that most locals give the cyclists the right of way. And even in wet weather descending, be careful because you lie so.
Ik beklim de Eltenberg zeer regelmatig en iedere keer is het toch weer even doorbijten. Als je het steile deel op het rechte stuk hebt gehad, kun je tot de bocht even terugschakelen, maar dan volgt toch nog een pittig stukje. Blijf inderdaad op de klinkerweg, hoe het asfalt links omhoog ook lonkt. Kijk ook zeker uit voor de straatjes van rechts, zeker als je hem afdaalt ! Dat gaat best rap en ik heb dat al eens mis zien gaan, ondanks dat de meeste locals de fietsers vaak even voorrang geven. En ook bij nat weer afdalen, pas op want je ligt zo.

Een kilometer knallen op de pedalen. Je kan je hier goed stukken rijden. Bij regen oppassen dat je wiel niet wegslibt. Uitzicht bovenop is zeer de moeite waard.
