A nice climb that for this region is quite steep through a forest and over reasonable to good tarmac. However, this climb has a strange disadvantage: the road of the climb is allowed for cyclists but the tarmac roads to the starting point are forbidden for cyclists (although this sign is ignored by local cyclists). Legal options are therefore to descend via the climbing road or to tackle it via singletrack from Kruishoefstraat (on the industrial estate). Normally 3 stars but because of the Belgi... read more

Normally 3 stars but because of the Belgian logic one star less ;-).

This logic has not existed for a very long time.Until a few years ago, when I was still a very active cyclist myself and could very often be found in this region close to where I live, and the current traffic situation was not yet an issue, it was still possible to simply ride up this beautiful slope.More than that, it often played an important role in cycling races and even served as the arrival location on several occasions.
