Despite the road next to you, it is still fun to do as the beautiful moorland landscape is a joy to cycle through. Only towards the forest edge do you really start to feel an incline but don't expect too much of it. You do this one for the scenery. Lovely tarmac by the way.
Ondanks de weg naast je toch leuk om te doen want het fraaie heidelandschap is een genot om doorheen te fietsen. Pas richting de bosrand ga je echt een helling voelen maar verwacht er niet te veel van. Deze doe je voor de omgeving. Heerlijk asfalt trouwens.
Of course, the real climb is only 200-300 metres, but for the non-cyclist it is a mean calf-biter.
The landscape makes sure that no matter what direction the wind is coming from, it is almost always uphill (unless you have it full in your back, of course). Together with the 1.5 km of false flat, this means that it is not easy to gain speed and get up the hill easily.
For the average cyclist this is of course a piece of cake.
Natuurlijk is het echte klimmetje maar 200-300 meter, maar voor de niet-wielrenner toch een gemeen kuitenbijtertje.
Het landschap zorgt ervoor dat ongeacht de windrichting hij in de aanloop vrijwel altijd op de kop draait (tenzij je hem echt vol in de rug hebt natuurlijk). Samen met het 1.5km vals plat betekent het dat je niet heel makkelijk snelheid kan maken om het bultje makkelijk op te vliegen.
Voor de gemiddelde wielrenner natuurlijk een peulenschil.
