Since the accident and additional fire on the highway in 2019, the viaduct has been closed to vehicular traffic. However, this ensures that as a cyclist, you have the track completely to yourself throughout the entire climb.
This can be labelled as a long runner, with a really short climb at the end. I've come to a standstill a few times at the 100m mark after the viaduct. To summarize: nice and easy climb through a beautiful forest, ideal to combine with the Bruineput (at the top turn left down the Krabbosstraat).
Sinds het ongeval en de bijkomende brand op de snelweg in 2019, is het viaduct afgesloten voor autoverkeer. Dit zorgt er echter voor dat je als fietser de baan volledig voor jezelf hebt gedurende de volledige klim.
Deze kan bestempeld worden als een lange loper, met op het einde echt een veneinig klimmetje. Al enkele keren fameus stil komen te vallen op de 100m na het viaduct. Samengevat: heerlijk rustige klim door een mooi bos, ideaal om in combinatie te nemen met de Bruineput (boven linksaf de Krabbosstraat af).
