Great views

This climb takes you to the top of Drachenfels, with views of Drachenburg on the way. There is also a mountain train to the top here, which you cross close to the top. The views from the top are great. There is a restaurant and a view of the castle ruins a bit further up.

Beautiful, dead-end, climb to Drachenfels, a tourist attraction that includes stunning views over the Rhine, a tourist mountain train, a restaurant and a burg ruin. The road to it is not for cars, only cyclists and hikers. The climb starts gently over fields and gets steeper in the forest. You have a view of Schloss Drachenburg and continue climbing through the forest with some worse road surface and steeper sections, including hairpins. Only just before you reach the mountain station does it flatten out and you reach the beautiful viewing plateau. It can be very busy here, much less so on the access road, though some hikers.
