Short climb in the built-up area of Mheer that starts just after passing Herberg In de Smidse. As you approach, you can already see the road ahead slowly going up. The steepest part starts at Steegstraat. After this, you immediately see Mheer Castle looming up. When you reach Café Quanten's terrace, the worst is behind you. A little further on at the bus stop you are at the top.
Korte klim in de bebouwde kom van Mheer die net na passeren van Herberg In de Smidse begint. Aanrijdend zie je de weg voor je al langzaam omhoog gaan. Het steilste deel begint t.h.v. de Steegstraat. Hierna zie je ook gelijk het hoger gelegen kasteel Mheer opdoemen. Als je bij het terras van café Quanten bent heb je het ergste achter de rug. Een stukje verder bij de bushalte ben je op de top.
Short but powerful. So you can describe the Dorpsstraat in Mheer. Quite steep, not long and with nice bends through the village you swing to the top on a wide road with smooth asphalt. Especially if you have just climbed the Grensheuvel in Noorbeek, the succession of two short steep climbs makes it quite tough.
Kort maar krachtig. Zo kun je de Dorpsstraat in Mheer omschrijven. Best steil, niet lang en met mooie bochten door het dorp slinger je naar de top over een brede weg met glad asfalt. Zeker als je net de Grensheuvel in Noorbeek hebt beklommen maakt de opeenvolging van twee korte steile klimmen het best pittig.
Nice climb towards the old center of Mheer. You see the castle and the church beautiful above you while you swing up. Good asphalt and a steep slope. This you almost always take immediately after the Grensheuvel and with that in the legs you feel it.
Lekker klimmetje richting het oude centrum van Mheer. Je ziet het kasteel en de kerk mooi boven je liggen terwijl je omhoog slingert. Prima asfalt en een pittige hellingsgraad. Deze pak je vrijwel altijd direct na de Grensheuvel en met die in de benen voel je deze wel.
Just like the Piemert from Slenaken and the border hill from Noorbeek, this is a treacherous climb. At first it doesn't seem too bad until it goes up steeply. Keep on going until you reach the church.
Net als de Piemert vanuit Slenaken en de grensheuvel van uit Noorbeek is dit een verraderlijke klim. Eerst lijkt het mee te vallen totdat het steil omhoog gaat. Doorstampen tot aan de kerk.
You can feel it when you have just done the Grensheuvel in Noorbeek. The start is steep, but after that you can shift up a few gears and regain some speed.
Deze voel je als je net de Grensheuvel in Noorbeek hebt gedaan. Het begin is steil, maar daarna kan je een paar tanden bijschakelen en terug wat snelheid maken.
