Betere een leukere en rustigere klim pakken in de buurt, zoals de parallel gelegen klim vanuit het buurtschap Viel naar Doenrade. Niet bepaald een klim waar je het voor doet. Er is een mooiere optie om van Jabeek naar Doenrade te fietsen. Pak bij de rotonde de Groeneweg richting Bingelrade en ga aan het eind van de weg verder over het Winkelpaadje (links van kruisbeeld) en Viel. Zo kom je ook in Doenrade. Andere mogelijkheid is om via het Duitse Hillensberg naar Doenrade te fietsen. Vanwege de klim in Hillensberg ook de moeite waard.
