This climb is only recommended if you want a new bike - terribly bad cobbles. To be avoided this climb.

I thought this was a really bad climb with terrible cobblestones (but I didn't have much experience with it so this is probably not the best start). Some parts of the climb they are loose, cobblestones are missing or some irregular asphalt has crashed down. Afterwards, everything on my bike cracked. Not necessarily a must in my opinion. There are nicer climbs in the neighborhood.

The analogy with the Oude Kwaremont is indeed easy to make: long, a few steeper parts, and cobblestones that are not in good shape.
Because of the recent heavy rainfall of last month, you'll find all kinds of cobblestones here: far apart, sharp pointed ones, irregular flat ones, and even completely loose ones (sand washed away, it seems to me). But nowhere really steep, just a long plow through.

And after the cobblestones you feel like you're at the top of the field, but it still goes on for quite a long time, until the other Dikkemeerweg on the other side. (Direction sanatorium street).

(richting sanatoriumstraat).

Beautiful scenery, but a cobblestone climb that takes forever. Luckily the cobblestones aren't really bad, they just look bad.

This climb reminds me of the Oude Kwaremont : long, rather steep in the beginning (but then it levels off) and the cobblestones are not in good shape. The surroundings are nice and quiet, a relief in the busy Brussels area.
