Dennis Lane looked ideal - a climb of similar difficulty but hopefully much quieter. Well it is much quieter than the main road route, thanks in part to the traffic calming they've put in to deter rat running. I found this climb while looking for a lumpy route out of London, and wanting to avoid the main road up Stanmore Hill. Dennis Lane looked ideal - a climb of similar difficulty but hopefully much quieter. The climb isn't hard, and although it nudges 10% gradient I was happy just to ride up it in relative peace without feeling bullied by cars.
