The ease with which you pass this climb is quite a contrast to the discomfort you experience when cycling up it. The reward is a nice piece of Strade Bianche with beautiful views over the Herve and the Meuse valley. There is something for everyone, so MTB, cyclocross, punchers and flandriens will enjoy it. Only the clean tyre guild can skip this one. It is also a very quiet area for the crossing to / from the Herve. ... read more

One of the very nicest climbs I came across in Limburg. Really a hidden little valley where you slowly climb out. A beautiful hollow road with a different view every 100 metres. The bit of gravel when you reach the top is fine on a road bike.

nice little climb with a 15% steep bit and a gravel surprise in the last 500 metres, but doable on a racing bike in dry weather

A varied climb in beautiful surroundings and with some views. The first part of the road was unfortunately, due to heavy rainfall the day before, partly covered with mud and piles of leaves and there were also some streams of water running over it. But there was still good cycling. The first half of the climb meanders nicely but does not rise very much. That changes suddenly when you encounter a steep section (where the asphalt in the beginning provides a good edge). Here you have to work hard but soon it levels off again and then the asphalt road turns into a gravel road which looks more like a cart track but is good to cycle ... but preferably with slightly wider tires. The last part goes slightly up and down until the end.

This road is, unless you like adventure, not really suitable for a road bike. Parts unpaved and much mud on the road in the first part after showers. On top also many hedge thorns with large thorns! A nice steep passage though.

Nice description by S-t-B; from campsite de Bosrand reasonable asphalt with first 2 bends. At the 3rd left turn steep upwards. At the top the asphalt ends. There you start to enjoy the result and the surroundings.
