Both in the ascent and descent, a lovely road - which is also forbidden to motorised traffic - , set in beautiful surroundings. Fine asphalt, varying percentages and a number of curves complete the picture. No steep gradients but the length makes itself felt nicely.

Wonderful car-free climb, nice up and down, and ideal for popping uphill at a good pace, but then you will definitely feel it in your legs because of its length. The surroundings are beautiful. I would definitely make a detour for this :)

Beautiful winding car-free road through the woods, never very steep but still quite a few altimeters.
Nice combination with the Autoweg from Rhenen.

As a climb it is nothing but the defense road is just the most beautiful road on the Utrecht Ridge, always take the high side of the 'highway' to rhenen along, really spectacular.
