Je kan hem wel als gemakkelijke doorsteek gebruiken vanuit de Wijngaardberg (Moedermeule, Donkerstraat, Klarenbos etc) om richting Nieuwrode een stuk van het Rot af te snijden.
Maar dan kan je evengoed opteren voor het Hellegat.

Het is op de eerste 150 meter na zeker niet steil maar eens je aan de snelweg komt kan de wind wel een spelbreker zijn als hij tegen staat.
