Darr's Lane is the logical link between Ashridge and the lanes on the Cholesbury side of the valley. if you want to get to Chiltern Velo cafe from Ashridge this is probably on your route. In terms of gradient it's not an easy option, but it's not super steep. It gets narrow once you get out of the houses, but it's been resurfaced in recent years, and they sorted out the kerb, so it's generally ok for passing oncoming cars. It feels a bit atmospheric where it goes through the trees, so it's probably the best of the climbs out of Northchurch. You also have Simmons bakery in the parade of shops at the bottom, which comes in handy sometimes.

A quiet but steep climb on the edge of Berkhamsted. A nice climb, but not much to see.
