This slope has a very flat approach between 0 and 3％, and then turns into a slightly more challenging section. Over a good 700 metres, the average gradient becomes 7.7％, incidentally, there are strips of also 700 metres at averages between 4 and 6％.
The steepest point is 18 to 20％, but that is on the inside of a very short bend so you are through without even realising it.
Afterwards, the slope changes again to a very long and relatively flat spur.
It's certainly not a tough climb, rather one where you can maintain a high average speed as long as you digest the steeper short sections purely on power.
This climb (from Gonachan Cottage) was part of the course at the 2023 UCI World Championships. The climb from Lennoxtown is included in Simon Warren's 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs.

Deze helling kent een zeer vlakke aanloop tussen de 0 en 3％, en gaat dan even over in een iets pittiger deel. Over een goeie 700 meter wordt de gemiddelde helllingsgraad 7.7％, overigens zijn er stroken van eveneens 700 meter aan gemiddelden tussen de 4 en 6％.
Het steilste punt bedraagt 18 à 20％, maar dat is aan de binnenkant van een zeer korte bocht dus je bent erdoor zonder dat je het goed en wel beseft.
Nadien gaat de helling opnieuw over op een zeer lange en relatief vlakke uitloper.
Het is zeker geen zware klim, eerder een exemplaar waar je een hoge gemiddelde snelheid kan behouden zolang je puur op kracht de steilere korte stroken verteert.
Deze beklimming (vanuit Gonachan Cottage) was deel van het parcours tijdens de 2023 UCI Wereldkampioenschappen. De helling vanuit Lennoxtown is opgenomen in Simon Warren's 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs.
