Cycled up a short and steep connecting road between the two Col de Croix de Fer routes from St. Jean de Maurienne (August 2022).
After turning off the classic route (D926) in Les Chambons, opposite the bar/restaurant "Speed wheel" , it goes straight up (almost continuously 8%) and after a few hairpin bends almost at the end you pass the small church of La Tour. The climb ends at the T-junction where you join the panoramic Croix de Fer route (D808) one level higher on the mountainside. Magnificent views of the wide surroundings in all directions!
If you are a fan of extra altitude metres, this is your chance.
