Ne a slightly steeper start, it climbs steadily between the houses, even after you turn right at the roundabout. That changes when you turn left because the percentages just about double and it is hard work up to the left turn further on. Once you have turned right, you quickly - and a lot lighter again - get to the end. Fine asphalt along the whole length.

At the roundabout the climb starts. They're certainly easier to find and even more beautiful; for the most part you climb between the typical Walloon buildings. The long middle part is far from steep but that last part is all the more hard. I myself often take this climb on the way back from the Ardennes to Z-Limburg because that way you avoid Verviers and then it certainly is a pimple not to be underestimated (just as ugly) and I've seen many cycling friends break down on it.

The Côte de Wegnez is not a nice climb. Until you get to the steep part you climb on a busy road between houses. If you are looking for a nice climb you can skip this one. The region around Verviers is littered with nicer climbs.

Technically, this climb is sneaky with a fierce final shot. The first 1.3km you think "doable", until you turn left in Wegnez. A wall with a few hundred meters 15% and higher looms before you. I had already done 130km here and all I could do was rake my way up.
The Côte de Wegnez has excellent tarmac.
