This climb passes through the charming village of Torgny, tackling the hillside on which the village sits head-on. The most difficult section is before the chapel of the hermitage, which was still occupied by a hermit who was over a hundred years old until a few months ago (she died in December 2022). After the hermitage, you can continue along the tarmac road to the entrance to the wood.
On the way back to Torgny, the view over nearby France is remarkable...
Cette côte traverse le charmant village de Torgny en s'attaquant frontalement au coteau où le village est installé. Le secteur le plus difficile se trouve avant la chapelle de l'ermitage qui était encore occupé par une ermite plus que centenaire il y a quelques mois (elle est décédée en décembre 2022). Après l'ermitage, on peut continuer sur la route qui est goudronnée jusqu'à l'entrée du bois.
En revenant vers Torgny, le coup d'oeil sur la France toute proche est remarquable ...
