Fine ascent, nothing crazy just the first part is a bit hard on the pedals. Goes on quite long but good percentages, the descent is nice!... read more

The first kilometre is steep, but once you have passed the last house and dive into the forest, the road becomes (barely) level. In the next hamlet it gets a bit steeper again, but it remains mostly false flat until Dairomont. After that you can descend to Grand Halleux to start on the Wanne.

Once I was on training camp with the cycling team and we stayed in Saint-Jacques, on top of the climb. And if you have to do this climb again after 130 kilometers in the Ardennes, it's disappointing. Although it is not that hard. The steepest parts are at the bottom of the hill, at the two wide curves. But it is perfectly possible to choose a gear and keep it up to the top. I myself choose the 52 after about one kilometer (although that was no longer possible after 130 km). For the lovers of walls and cramps: you can also take the mega-steep Rue des Hézalles in Trois-Ponts and then join this climb.

Only the first kilometer is hard work. After that you can enjoy the surroundings.

Alleen de eerste kilometer is afzien. Daarna kun je van de omgeving genieten.
