I made this ascent in July 2024. The road had just been resurfaced and there were still a lot of small gravel bumps which made the climb, and especially the descent, rather dangerous and uncomfortable. Otherwise, it was a fairly long climb in a beautiful setting.
J'ai fait cette ascension en juillet 2024. La route venait d'être refaite et il subsistait plein de petits gravillons qui rendent l'ascension, et surtout la descente, plutôt dangereuse et inconfortable. Sinon belle ascension assez longue et dans un beau cadre
I did this climb on 12 July 2024. The road has been resurfaced and is currently covered in gravel (this will be removed in the next few weeks), but this makes the climb more tiring and, above all, more painful, as you have to drive in the ruts left by the cars and sometimes leave the right-hand edge of the road. The traffic is relatively heavy, and people drive fast and badly (overtaking in any old way and far too closely).
J'ai fait cette côte le 12 juillet 2024. La route a été refaite et est actuellement recouverte de gravillons. Ça partira dans les semaines qui viennent mais ça rend l'ascension plus fatigante, et surtout plus pénible car il faut rouler dans les ornières laissées par les voitures et parfois quitter le bord droit de la route. Le trafic est relativement intense, et les gens roulent vite et mal (dépassement n'importe comment et beaucoup trop près).
First bit from the village of Bohan is steeper, then you climb steadily through the forest. The climb is through a stream valley until you reach a somewhat wetter spring area. You climb some more. At the top, the route via Bagimont is beautiful.
Eerste stukje vanuit het dorpje Bohan is steiler, dan klim je gestaag door door het bos. De klim is door een beekdal tot je bij een wat natter brongebied komt. Je klimt nog een stukje verder. Boven is de route via Bagimont mooi.
Begins a little viciously, but soon it is pleasantly gradual climbing through desolate forests, with the only sign of life being an asylum at the top, near the border with France.
Begint een beetje venijnig, maar al snel is het aangenaam-geleidelijk klimmen door verlaten bossen, met als enige teken van leven een asielcentrum op de top, vlakbij de grens met Frankrijk. (waarneming op 6 april 2018)
