One of the longest climbs in the Namur region starts by cycling across the Meuse via the pretty arched bridge in Hastière.
Firmly climbing up the valley slope on busy road, which you can leave just to the right if you choose to take the old route.
At the top of the wide plateau, the climbing is over but it continues for several more kilometres up and down with lots of false flat on long straight/slightly turning road with the wind as a game breaker.
There are wind turbines along the route for a reason.
Via two turns past the church of Mesnil St. Blaise (provisioning) you reach the highest point on leaving this only village, at the level of the little school.

Long busy climb for those who want to brave the wind!

Long tempo climb that climbs evenly until just before the first right turn to Blainmont, where a white line 'GPM' has been drawn. After that, the climb keeps going up and down until Mesnil St Blaise. Only the first km you cycle through the forest, after that the wind is usually at a disadvantage here....
