Adey's Lane is quite an obscure variant of the main approaches to this summit, and has a very steep section, quite a poor surface. Very quiet road, except for the last part where rejoining a moderately busy main road which has annoyingly poor surface on last flat kilometre under the trees. If you like a rapid technical descent, double back to retrace to Wotton on the main road, where the surface becomes good and some tricky bends are there to catch you out after a fast approach!
