Good alternative for the ramberg in the heart of leuven, but if you can choose the ramberg or karmelietenberg they are more fun in my opinion, do look out for traffic when you make your ascent to the top of the climb, overall a descent climb with some nice cobbles.... read more

Just popping up the cobbles. Lots of people on foot not expecting cyclists from below. So pay attention. Better to do outside the student year or rush hour.

Even de kasseien opknallen.

Slope in the heart of Leuven. On Google Maps, I first went to check whether you can drive to Collegeberg via the Oude Markt. But no problem :)
When approaching, it can be busy though. You enter the Old Market via Lavorenberg. Best to speed up here.
After a small chicane, you'll see one long, straight line to the top. Cobblestones are a bit bumpy, but doable. With a short burst of power, you'll be at the top in no time.
The slope can also be crowded with walkers, but because of the "roaring thunder" on the cobblestones, people quickly look back because students will not ride up it at such'a speed.
The "worst" part actually comes after the top, when you take the Naamsestraat on the right.

Helling in hartje Leuven.

Short steep straight climb on cobblestones starting in front of the Holy Trinity College on the Old Market in University City Leuven.
Because of the countless catering establishments around this square, popularly, also called "The Longest Toog of Europe"in the vernacular.
Slope ends in the ascending Naamsestraat where, after turning right, you can cycle up a few hundred metres more on cobblestone/asphalt until the point where it descends to the Leuven city ring road.
Typical slope where, as a student, depending on your bike and/or alcohol level, you may or may not get to the top!
