Route to climb to the picturesque Santa Lucia starts at the exit of Caprile (direction Alleghe).
Turn left and climb via slightly winding roads including 3 unlit (!!) tunnels along the Fiorentina mountain river which you cross once. After 4.5 km the road turns left uphill through 6 hairpin bends until the village of Selva with on that hot day cooling village fountain. Just behind the church turn left (re = Passo Staulanza) to descend and after a sharp turn over the Codalunga river (exit Passo Giau) the last kilometers to climb through the eastern side to reach your picturesque destination.
It is highly recommended to continue for another kilometer and a few altimeters to the fantastic panoramic point Belvedere (1471m) with views of your starting point, Mont Civetta and the Marmolada. You can then continue cycling and via the last part of Falzarego descent back to Caprile for the perfect warming-up lap of 16 km.
