The "human" side of San Carlo. For some sections it looks a little like the other side, but it remains fairly short as a climb. Perfect asphalt and an approachable first section. Last hairpin bends as hard as they are beautiful. Lovely constant view of the La Thuile valley.

The approach to the steep slopes is almost straight, with no shade, the entry into the forest is after the 3rd kilometer ( the most difficult...despite the following)
At the top there are many picnic tables, which are very popular on nice summer days.
To enjoy the beautiful views you will have to go down to Morgex as the summit is drowned in the fir trees.
In 2013, there was no signpost with information on this side of the mountain, unlike the other, much more popular side.
Conclusion : Pass with an easy first part and a very hard and regular second part, little interest to do only this side because it is short
