Without doubt the toughest climb in Cataluña. The first kms are pretty ok but the last kms are unusually tough. It reminds me of the Angliru. Most riders who train in Cataluña ignore it because of those last 5 km. Here you have to start trained and above all dose and have the right gears.

Did this climb in August 2023. I'm 82kg and trained to be in good shape for this family holiday with cycling thrown in.
I've ridden loads of HC climbs in Alps, Pyrenees and Sierra Nevada's.
This climb up to Vallcebre it is a very nice and consistent climb.
However after Vallcebre its becomes a monster. Very steep inclines with a few 20% + ramps thrown in.
I had a 34 rear cassette.
I found a lot of the last 3-4k un-ridable and had to push my bike. First time ever on a HC climb !!

The views from last 1/3 up to top are nice but not amazing. The top is an anticlimax but you get a nice peak at Pedraforca.
Roads are quite in this area and Vallcebre is a good pitstop but overall I was disappointed with Coll de Pradell.
I would skip it !!!
