Until Miscon, the road is fairly wide and goes up gently. When entering Miscon, it is a few hundred metres steeper, but that should not be a problem. In Miscon the road becomes narrow and sometimes bumpy. There is a lot of gravel on the road, so take care when descending.
The ascent is quite irregular and especially after the 3rd hairpin there is a very steep bit. The last 300+400m, on the other hand, are almost flat. On top there is nothing...not even an official col sign, but a hand-painted one.
By the way, from the other side it looks easier according to the profile. But nothing could be further from the truth: the climb does not start in Boulc, but at the junction of the main road (Pont de Boulc) where you immediately face a kilometre or 10％.
Tot aan Miscon is het een redelijk brede weg die vals plat omhoog gaat. Bij het binnenrijden van Miscon is het een paar honderd meter wat steiler, maar dat mag geen naam hebben. In Miscon wordt de weg smal en soms hobbelig. Er ligt best veel steenslag op de weg, dus ook oppassen met afdalen.
De stijging is behoorlijk onregelmatig en vooral na de 3e haarspeldbocht zit een flink steil stukje. De laatste 300-400m is daarentegen dan weer nagenoeg vlak. Bovenop is niets...zelfs niet eens een officieel colbord, maar een handgeschilderde.
Overigens, van de andere zijde lijkt hij volgens het profiel makkelijker. Maar niets is minder waar: de klim begint namelijk niet in Boulc, maar bij de afslag van de hoofdweg (Pont de Boulc) waar je meteen een kilometer a 10％ voor de kiezen krijgt.
