A fine, fairly steady climb (the most difficult part is at the start). At the top, you pass the Wettstein military cemetery.
Belle montée, assez régulière (la partie la plus difficile se trouve au début). Au sommet, on longe le cimetière militaire de Wettstein.
The main part of the climb is at the beginning: at the mini-village without a name, it briefly becomes 7％. Very easy to do. At the hairpin bend, it gets better and less steep.
In the following part, it becomes more and more wooded and less difficult. So switch up. 👌🏼
The cemetery near the top is impressive, also because the graves are only a few metres from the road.
Here you can turn left to continue ascending for another 2.5 kilometres to 4％ monument Le Ligne. On both sides, you have beautiful views that are usually missing on the Col du Wettstein. A must.
Both descents (Hohrod and Soultzeren) are in good shape. They are not fast descents because of the high number of hairpin bends.
Het zwaartepunt van de klim ligt aan het begin: bij het mini-dorpje zonder naam wordt het even 7％. Erg goed te doen. Bij de haarspeldbocht wordt het mooier en minder steil.
In het stuk daarna wordt het steeds meer bebost en minder lastig. Opschakelen dus. 👌🏼
De begraafplaats bij de top is indrukwekkend, ook omdat de graven slechts enkele meters van de weg liggen.
Hier kan je linksaf slaan om nog 2,5 kilometer door te stijgen aan 4％ naar monument Le Ligne. Aan beide kanten heb je prachtige vergezichten die meestal ontbreken op de Col du Wettstein. In de afdaling wordt dit meer dan gecompenseerd!
Beide afdalingen (Hohrod en Soultzeren) liggen er goed bij. Het zijn geen snelle afdalingen vanwege het hoge aantal haarspeldbochten.
Excellent connecting road where you will hardly have any difficulties. Very briefly you climb to 7％. The rest is easy.
Prima verbindingsweg waar je het nauwelijks zwaar zal hebben. Heel kort stijg je aan 7％. De rest loopt vanzelf.
Wanted to do it from orbey. Had put a route on my gps. And suddenly I was led to the top via a very small track through meadows and along water and at the end also some gravel. But the descent to munster was definitely worth the effort.
Wou hem doen vanuit orbey. Had een route op mijn gps gezet. En plots werd ik via een heel klein baantje door weide en langs water en op het einde ook nog wat gravel naar de top geleid. Maar de afdaling naar munster was wel zeker de moeite waard
Nice even climb. To get to Orbey you also have to make some altitude meters. The climb is therefore actually a bit longer.
Asphalt is fine, especially in the descent. Great climb for the novice climber.
Mooie gelijkmatige klim. Om naar Orbey te fietsen dien je ook al wat hoogtemeters te maken. De klim is daarmee eigenlijk nog wat langer.
Asfalt is prima, zeker ook in de afdaling. Prima klim voor de beginnende klimmer.
