It's a tough pass. After 200 m, we're already inside a hairpin, so it's particularly steep, but the rest won't be much less so. After the hairpins comes a straight section where the gradient steepens considerably, and it's here that you have to hold on, telling yourself that soon there will be a flat area where you can recover a little, before the final 1.5 km, which, although steeper, is more regular and easier.
This remains a difficult pass, albeit a fairly short one.
Dur dur ce col. Au bout de 200 m, on est déjà à l'intérieur d'une épingle, donc particulièrement raide, mais la suite ne le sera pas tellement moins. Après les épingles, vient une section droite où la pente forcit beaucoup et c'est là qu'il faut tenir bon en se disant que bientôt, un replat permettra de se refaire un peu, avant les 1.5 km finaux qui, plus réguliers bien que raides, se feront plus facilement.
Cela reste un col difficile, bien qu'assez court. Et le classement de pente moyenne qui prend mal en compte la petite descente, le minimise quelque peu.
Explosive climb that is actually divided into two parts. The first part is the toughest, you really have to work towards that short descent. Get the maximum out of it until there, then you'll actually get a good PR. From the descent it's not long to the top, then you can maintain a good pace. Top climb!
Explosive klim die eigenlijk in twee delen is opgedeeld. Het eerste stuk is het zwaarst, je moet echt naar die korte afdaling toe werken. Het maximale eruit halen tot daar, dan haal je ook echt een goeie PR. Vanaf de afdaling is het niet lang meer tot de top, dan kun je ook een goed tempo aanhouden. Topklim!
