I've done all 3 variations of this col, but this one is insane. So steep for so long. In my opinion definitely comparable to the Redoute or Keutenberg.

Ik heb deze variant niet gedaan, maar die is ook saai zo te lezen. Ik heb de variant van La Bresse naar Gérardmer gedaan over de D486 (in La Bresse op de rotonde richting Gérardmer gaan). Volg die weg en je hebt een fantastisch uitzicht over het dal. Vervolgens daal je een klein stukje af, klim je weer een stuk en daal je af naar het meer van Gérardmer. Heel lekkere en gelijkmatige klim met super uitzicht dus.

I drove the climb as it is described here by car once and I didn't like the scenery much. Especially the last part - where the climb is less difficult - I did not like the scenery. But tastes differ. I did drive up the climb via the 'normal' route and I liked it. I liked the views, the road surface was good and you see most of the other cyclists there and that is - I think - nicer cycling. I can add this climb to the list as well.
Ik ben de klim zoals hij hier staat beschreven met de auto een keer gereden en ik vond er niet veel aan qua omgeving. Vooral het laatste stuk - waar de klim minder zwaar is - vond ik niet mooi qua omgeving. Mara smaken verschillen. Ik ben wel de klim opgereden via de 'gewone' route en dat beviel wel goed. Ik vond de uitzichten mooi, het wegdek was prettig en je ziet daar ook de meeste andere fietsers en dat is - vind ik - fijner fietsen. Die klim mag van mij ook in het rijtje worden opgenomen.

I did the climb from the other side (La Bresse) last weekend. It's not a very nice climb but it's a nice steady one. So go for it!
Ik heb afgelopen weekend de klim vanaf de andere kant (La Bresse) gedaan. Het is niet een hele mooie klim maar hij rijdt wel lekker gelijkmatig. Knallen dus!
