This is the easiest pass to climb when you're in Marseille.
It is not very pleasant, however, as the road is very busy with cars. There is a shoulder for cyclists, but at times it is of very poor quality. As for the descent, if you're lucky you'll be able to enjoy it without getting stuck behind a car.
You'll be able to console yourself with a breathtaking view of Marseille and its bay. It's a climb that's well worth it when you consider what else you can do in the area.
There's very little shade in summer and the mistral, if it's present, can greatly increase the difficulty of this pass.
