A very gentle, tricky climb for the first half but then becomes quite difficult.
There's little shade, which gives you an unobstructed view of the various valleys flowing into the baume. The reward at the top is the descent to Johannas, which offers a magnificent view of the Tanargue.
It's still a busy road, but the carriageway is wide enough with plenty of visibility, so we're quite visible to motorists.

Nice little climb in beautiful surroundings on the edge of the central massif in the Ardeche. Nowhere really steep but harder than you would expect on climbfinder. A beautiful road surface but some traffic and since there is no cycle path like almost everywhere in France, you have to be careful. No shade and in the Ardeche it can be hot . Today the strong headwind was an additional factor to make the legs hurt even more. The road is very wide and twisty but no hairpins.
